Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Security to lead and oversee the organization's security function. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive security programs that protect people, assets, facilities, information, and operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive security management experience, and the ability to build a proactive security culture across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Security Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute the organization's overall security strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Establish security policies, procedures, and standards to ensure a safe and secure environment.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the security team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Provide security-related guidance and recommendations to senior leadership.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Conduct security risk assessments and identify potential vulnerabilities across facilities and operations.
- Design and implement mitigation strategies to address identified risks.
- Ensure compliance with applicable security regulations, industry standards, and internal policies.
- Monitor emerging security threats and adapt security measures accordingly.
Physical Security
- Oversee the protection of company premises, assets, employees, and visitors.
- Manage access control systems, surveillance technologies, alarm systems, and security monitoring operations.
- Develop and maintain emergency response, crisis management, and business continuity procedures.
- Coordinate security planning for special events, executive protection requirements, and high-risk activities when necessary.
Incident Management & Investigations
- Lead security incident response efforts and ensure timely resolution of security-related issues.
- Conduct or oversee investigations into security breaches, theft, misconduct, and other incidents.
- Prepare detailed reports, findings, and recommendations for management.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to implement corrective and preventive actions.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Manage relationships with external security providers, contractors, and consultants.
- Coordinate with local authorities, emergency services, and regulatory bodies when required.
- Evaluate and recommend security technologies, tools, and services to enhance organizational security.
Security Awareness & Training
- Develop and deliver security awareness programs for employees.
- Promote a security-conscious culture throughout the organization.
- Ensure employees understand security procedures, emergency protocols, and reporting requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Master's degree is an advantage.
- Professional certifications such as CPP, PSP, CISSP, CISM, ASIS, or equivalent are highly desirable.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in corporate security, risk management, law enforcement, military, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years in a leadership or management role overseeing security operations.
- Proven experience developing and implementing enterprise-wide security programs.
- Experience managing investigations, crisis response, and security projects.
