Head of Project Development - Onshore Wind

Overview
An established renewable energy developer with a strong track record in onshore wind project development in Germany is seeking an experienced professional to lead its project development activities.
The Position
This role will take responsibility for overseeing the development of wind projects from acquisition through to BImSchG approval and handover to construction. Reporting directly to the CEO, the position will act as a senior counterpart in managing and coordinating the development portfolio, while providing leadership and structure across the project management function.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and coordinating the project development team
- Overall responsibility for budget, risk, quality, and project controlling
- Steering projects from acquisition through to BImSchG permitting
- Ensuring efficient progression of projects through the development cycle
- Acting as a central coordination point across the development portfolio
Candidate Profile:
The company is looking for a professional with:
- Extensive experience in onshore wind project development in Germany
- A proven track record of progressing projects through the BImSchG permitting process
- Experience leading teams or managing project developers
- Strong understanding of project budgeting, risk management, and controlling
- The ability to operate effectively in a senior leadership capacity
