Position Title: Head of Operations and Finance

Reporting To: CEO / Managing Director

Location: Pune (HQ)

Role Overview

The Head of Operations (COO) + CFO will be responsible for overall business operations, financial strategy, delivery governance, profitability management, resource optimization, compliance, and organizational scalability. The role demands a strong blend of strategic leadership, financial acumen, operational governance, business planning, commercial decision-making, and team leadership. The incumbent will work closely with leadership teams to ensure sustainable growth, operational efficiency, and achievement of revenue and profitability goals.

Key Responsibilities

A – Strategic Leadership

• Partner with CEO/MD in defining business strategy and growth roadmap
• Build scalable operational and financial frameworks
• Develop annual operating plans, budgets, and growth strategies
• Support expansion into new markets, clients, and business opportunities
• Drive organization-wide operational maturity and governance

B – Operations Management

Project & Delivery Governance

• Oversee execution and delivery of multiple concurrent projects
• Ensure projects are delivered within:
• Scope
• Timelines
• Budget
• Quality standards
• Establish project governance and review mechanisms
• Monitor project profitability and utilization metrics

Resource & Capacity Planning

• Drive workforce planning and resource allocation
• Optimize employee productivity and utilization
• Ensure effective coordination across delivery, technology, HR, finance, and support teams

Process Excellence

• Establish SOPs, operational controls, and business processes
• Improve operational efficiency and reduce delivery bottlenecks
• Implement KPI-driven performance culture
• Drive automation and digital operational practices

Customer & Stakeholder Management

• Engage with key customers and stakeholders
• Ensure high customer satisfaction and retention
• Handle escalations and critical business issues effectively

C. Finance Leadership

Financial Planning & Analysis

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
• Develop revenue, cost, and profitability models
• Drive financial discipline across functions
• Monitor cash flow, working capital, and margins

Financial Controls & Governance

• Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, audit, and regulatory requirements
• Strengthen internal financial controls and risk management frameworks
• Manage audits, taxation, and financial reporting processes

Business Finance

• Analyze project-level profitability and cost optimization
• Support pricing and commercial decision-making
• Drive EBITDA and profitability improvement initiatives
• Provide strategic MIS and dashboards to leadership

Investor / Banking Relations

• Manage relationships with banks, financial institutions, auditors, and external stakeholders
• Support fundraising, investment planning, and financial due diligence if required

Skills and Competencies

• 18 + 20 years of relevant leadership experience
• Strong exposure in:
• Operations management
• Financial leadership
• Project governance
• Business scaling
• Technology/services industry
• Experience handling multi-project environments and P&L responsibility preferred

Educational Qualifications

• CA / MBA Finance / MBA Operations / ICWA / Equivalent qualification preferred
• Additional certifications in Project Management, Finance, Operations, or Strategy are advantageous
