Job Description:
We are seeking a Head - Manufacturing to join our team. The successful executive will lead
the team & will play a key role in translating Engineering designs and specifications into
efficient and effective Manufacturing processes. You will work closely with leadership &
cross-functional teams to ensure that products are manufactured to meet the exact
requirements outlined in the provided build-to-print documentation. Your responsibilities
will include process optimization, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
1. Engineering Oversight: Head Engineering team, Interpret engineering drawings and
specifications, applying GD&T principles to define part geometry and tolerances for the
organization.
2. Team Leadership: Lead and provide strategic guidance to engineering teams on GD&T
interpretation and its application in manufacturing processes.
3. Machining Expertise: Leverage expertise in machining processes—including milling,
turning, grinding, and EDM—to optimize manufacturing operations and drive innovation.
4. Collaboration: Work closely with machinists and CNC programmers to develop efficient
machining strategies and tooling solutions.
5. Design Leadership: Oversee the development of 3D models and CAD/CAM designs for
manufacturing tooling, fixtures, and components, ensuring alignment with project
requirements.
6. Special Processes Management: Supervise special manufacturing processes such as
welding, heat treatment, surface finishing, and additive manufacturing.
7. Cross-Functional Coordination: Coordinate with production, quality assurance, and cross-
functional teams to achieve project goals and ensure timely delivery.
8. Quality Assurance: Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for
quality issues identified during manufacturing, fostering a culture of continuous
improvement.
9. Mentorship: Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technicians, providing technical
guidance and opportunities for professional development.
10. Technical Support: Offer technical support to fabrication teams to optimize production
processes and ensure high product quality.
11. Machining Techniques Knowledge: Maintain a strong understanding of fabrication and
machining techniques, including cutting, bending, welding, and assembly.
12. Efficiency Initiatives: Drive initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, productivity, and
safety across fabrication and machining operations.
13. Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction,
and quality enhancement through the application of lean manufacturing principles and
advanced technologies.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
· 15-20+ years proven experience in Manufacturing engineering within a build-to-
print manufacturing environment.
· Strong knowledge of interpreting engineering drawings and build-to-print
documentation.
· Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement
methodologies.
· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
· Clearly incorporate GD&T symbols on engineering drawings to communicate
geometric tolerances and specifications effectively and sound knowledge on GD&T
is must.
