Head of Group Reporting & Financial Operations

Overview

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced finance professional to lead the central finance and reporting function within a growing international organisation operating across multiple jurisdictions. Reporting directly to senior leadership, this position will oversee consolidated financial reporting, governance, inventory accounting, and the ongoing development of finance operations across the wider group structure.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical accounting expertise with operational leadership capability and will play a central role in strengthening financial controls, enhancing reporting processes, and supporting the continued expansion of the business.

This position is suited to an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building scalable finance processes, and is comfortable partnering with both operational and executive stakeholders internationally.

Core Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Consolidation

  • Lead the preparation and coordination of consolidated monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting across multiple legal entities and international operations.
  • Oversee close processes and reporting timetables, ensuring delivery of accurate and timely financial information to executive leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Review management reporting outputs, variance analysis, and key performance indicators to support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and corporate reporting requirements.

Governance, Controls & Compliance

  • Maintain a strong internal control framework across the organisation, ensuring consistency of accounting treatment and financial governance standards.
  • Support ongoing compliance initiatives, including internal controls testing, documentation, and remediation activities.
  • Coordinate external audit processes across multiple jurisdictions, acting as lead contact for auditors and ensuring efficient delivery of audit requirements.
  • Oversee statutory reporting obligations and ensure timely completion of all regulatory and financial filing requirements.

Inventory & Operational Finance

  • Take ownership of group-wide inventory accounting processes, including valuation methodologies, provisioning, stock controls, and reconciliation oversight.
  • Work closely with operational, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to improve costing accuracy and inventory visibility.
  • Drive standardisation of inventory accounting practices and reporting processes across all business units.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives relating to stock integrity, reporting automation, and operational finance controls.

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Manage finance systems and reporting infrastructure, ensuring functionality, scalability, and ongoing optimisation of financial processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation, standardisation, and enhanced reporting capability.
  • Support implementation and enhancement of ERP and financial reporting systems where required.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Provide leadership and guidance to finance personnel across regional and entity-level operations.
  • Partner with senior finance leadership to support broader strategic finance initiatives and organisational growth plans.
  • Manage relationships with external finance partners, outsourced providers, and professional advisors.
  • Promote a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on accountability, development, and continuous improvement.

Candidate Profile

  • Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent).
  • Degree-qualified in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience within group finance, financial reporting, or corporate accounting environments.
  • Previous exposure to international or multi-entity organisations required.
  • Manufacturing, supply chain, or inventory-intensive industry experience essential.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting standards, controls, and audit processes.
  • Prior experience within a large accounting practice or advisory environment advantageous.
  • Strong systems aptitude with experience working across ERP and financial reporting platforms.
  • Excellent analytical capability and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to manage finance teams and coordinate cross-functional stakeholders effectively.
  • Strong communication and relationship-management skills with the ability to operate across operational and executive environments.
