Role Purpose
The Head of Finance is responsible for leading the financial function in Spain, ensuring sound financial management, control, and performance aligned with the company’s global strategy. The role acts as a strategic business partner at a local level, enabling data-driven decision-making and supporting the sustainable growth of the country.
The Head of Finance is a member of the Country Management Board in Spain, playing a key role within the local leadership team reporting to the Chief Country Officer and to the Group CFO, ensuring alignment between the global financial strategy and local business execution.
Main responsibilities
1. Financial management and analysis
- Oversee accounting, tax, and financial reporting activities in the country.
- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial statements.
- Ensure local accounting/taxation correct and in time with local and international regulations.
- Coordinate reporting with the global finance team.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking processes.
- Development of finance processes through modern tools and technologies.
2. Business Controlling
- Provide financial insights to key business areas (Sales, Operations, etc.).
- Monitor key financial KPIs (costs, margins, productivity, etc.).
- Oversee cost control, treasury and resource optimization.
- Liaise with auditors, external advisors, and financial institutions.
- Provide financial evaluation in M&A transactions in growth related activities.
- Checking financial data at the Due Diligence phase and at the beginning of the negotiations.
- Track record in post-acquisition integration or financial transformation.
- Experience in a group reporting environment, including consolidations, mergers, and the integration of multiple legal entities within Spain.
3. Finance team leadership
- Lead and develop the finance team.
- Set objectives and ensure their achievement.
- Foster a high-performance and continuous improvement culture.
Requirements
- Degree in Business Administration, Economics, or similar.
- Strong knowledge of Spanish GAAP (PGC), local tax regulations and statutory reporting requirements.
- Proven experience in senior financial leadership roles.
- Fluent English.
