Compensation: $200,000 – $275,000 (based on qualifications and experience)

Equity: 0.5% – 2.0%

About the Role

Our client are building an AI-powered platform transforming the legal industry through technology. Their product spans the full plaintiff-side legal value chain, including:

Case origination
Case underwriting
Law firm operations
Capital markets

As Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for designing, building, and scaling all aspects of the platform.

This is a foundational leadership role. As the first engineering hire, you will:

Own technical architecture and product infrastructure
Select and implement the technology stack
Build and lead the engineering team
Develop and deploy production-grade software used by real customers
Partner closely with leadership to define product strategy and execution

Requirements

Experience

4+ years of experience as a full-stack software engineer
Proven experience shipping AI-powered software products to end users
Strong product and engineering ownership mindset
Ability to operate independently in a fast-moving startup environment

Technical Expertise

Experience with some or all of the following:

Large Language Models (LLMs)
Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
Model fine-tuning
Agent frameworks
Evaluation systems (Evals)
Modern full-stack application development

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $200,000 – $275,000
Equity: 0.5% – 2.0%

Remote with quarterly travel
