About the Role

As the Head of Technical Product Management, you are responsible for ensuring a best-in-class hardware and software setup that delivers a superior charging experience to JOLT’s drivers. Your remit spans hardware evaluation and strategic supplier management, UX/UI of our chargers, software ownership of the charging stack, and close alignment with the Deployment team to support rollout targets. You lead the Technical Product Management team, including dedicated Hardware and Software Architecture roles.

Core Responsibilities

Strategy & Target Picture: Define the strategic direction for JOLT’s technical product setup. Develop a clear target picture for hardware, software, and driver-facing UX/UI – and own the roadmap to continuously evolve toward it.
Hardware & Supplier Management: Evaluate the market for charging hardware, lead structured selection and piloting processes, and drive partner decisions. Manage strategic relationships with existing suppliers, including regular management-level alignments and SLA negotiations to secure adequate remote and on-site support for Operations and Field Service.
UX/UI of Chargers: Own the driver-facing experience at the charger. Define UX/UI requirements and standards, and work with hardware suppliers and the software team to continuously improve the interaction quality at the charging point.
Software Ownership – Charging Stack: Hold overall product and technical accountability for JOLT’s charging stack. Define the product roadmap, evaluate and prioritise feature requests from internal stakeholders, and oversee integration and system stability across all stack components.
Deployment Alignment: Work closely with the Deployment team to provide the right hardware in the needed volumes to support rollout targets.
Team Leadership: Lead and develop the Technical Product Management team, including functional and disciplinary oversight of the Hardware and Software Architecture roles. Foster a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
Performance & Reporting: Own the department’s core KPIs – charging success rate, hardware and spare parts pricing, and driver UX. Define and track relevant metrics; report on progress and strategic developments to senior leadership.

Profile Snapshot

Technical Product Leadership: Proven experience managing hardware and/or software products in a technical operations environment; EV infrastructure, IoT, or energy sector experience is a strong plus.
Supplier Management: Demonstrated ability to structure SLAs, manage strategic supplier partnerships, and drive supplier accountability at management level.
Software Understanding: Solid grasp of software architecture concepts; ability to bridge technical and operational requirements. Hands-on development experience is advantageous.
UX Sensibility: Understanding of user experience principles applied to physical or embedded products; ability to translate driver needs into hardware and software requirements.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Strong ability to align Operations, Deployment, Engineering, and external partners around shared technical goals.
Languages: English and German required.
