Purpose of the Role
The Head of IT will drive the organization’s overall technology strategy, digital infrastructure, proprietary information systems, and cybersecurity operations. Operating as a critical business partner to the executive team, this role owns the company’s technology roadmap, leading the development and continuous optimization of our customer-facing mobile applications, websites, cloud infrastructure, and core backend system integrations to ensure technology remains a distinct competitive advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy & Roadmap: Architect and execute an IT roadmap aligned with business growth, prioritizing platform scalability, digital innovation, and merchant/customer experience.
- Product & Integrations: Oversee the full software lifecycle of proprietary digital products, ensuring frictionless API integrations across storefronts, operational databases, payment gateways, and third-party logistics.
- Infrastructure & Security: Govern all cloud services, enterprise networks, and corporate IT operations, while establishing rigorous cybersecurity policies, monitoring controls, and data protection frameworks.
- Vendor & Budget Management: Manage relationships, SLAs, and contracts with software houses, tech vendors, and developers while optimizing CapEx/OpEx and licensing budgets.
- Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and upscale a high-performing internal engineering and technical support team utilizing Agile frameworks.
Candidate Profile & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related field. (PMP, AWS/Azure, CISSP, or ITIL certifications are a major plus).
- Experience: 8-12 years of progressive IT experience, with a proven track record in leadership roles within e-commerce, q-commerce, retail, logistics, or digital-first technology environments.
- Technical Depth: Hands-on experience managing digital platforms, mobile apps, databases, and APIs alongside a strong foundational understanding of cloud environments and distributed architecture.
- Execution: Demonstrated ability to drive digital transformation initiatives and lead complex technical projects to completion on schedule and within budget.
