Head of Finance

Location: Munich

Our client is seeking a Head of Finance to lead financial operations, reporting, and governance across a multi-entity organisation, ensuring robust controls, scalability, and regulatory compliance. This role partners closely with senior leadership to drive strategic decision-making while building high-performing teams and efficient, future-ready finance processes.

Responsibilities:

Lead finance and governance across all entities.
Deliver accurate statutory and management reporting; ensure audit readiness.
Implement and maintain internal controls in line with German regulations.
Own budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning.
Support investment decisions, business cases, and capital allocation.
Partner with senior leadership and CFO as a trusted advisor.
Oversee end-to-end accounting, including close, tax, and audits.
Build and scale transactional finance (AP/AR) and core processes.
Ensure efficient systems, data integrity, and scalable reporting.
Hire, lead, and develop finance teams.
Define KPIs, roles, and operating standards.
Drive automation and continuous process improvement.

Profile:

Extensive experience in senior finance roles within complex organisations.
Strong expertise in accounting, financial control, and statutory reporting.
Leadership experience in FP&A, Strategic Finance, or Commercial Finance.
Experience in capital-intensive or operational sectors is advantageous.
Proven ability to scale finance functions in high-growth environments.
Hands-on, structured, and results-oriented.
Able to operate at both strategic and operational levels.
Decisive and resilient in fast-paced settings.
Clear and confident communicator with senior stakeholders.
