About the Role

The University invites applications from experienced and academically accomplished professionals for the position of Professor & Head of Department (HoD) in the Education Department (UITTR). The role requires dynamic academic leadership, administrative expertise, and a strong commitment to excellence in teacher education, research, and curriculum innovation. The selected candidate will lead the department and contribute strategically to the development and execution of Integrated B.A. B.Ed. / B.Sc. B.Ed. programmes in alignment with NEP 2020 and institutional objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide academic and administrative leadership to the Education Department.
  • Lead the planning, implementation, and enhancement of 4-year Integrated B.A. B.Ed. / B.Sc. B.Ed. programmes.
  • Ensure high standards of teaching, learning, research, and student outcomes.
  • Mentor faculty members and promote interdisciplinary research initiatives.
  • Develop curriculum frameworks in accordance with UGC, NCTE, and NEP 2020 guidelines.
  • Oversee accreditation, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Encourage publications, funded research projects, seminars, FDPs, and academic collaborations.
  • Strengthen industry-academia and school partnership initiatives.
  • Manage departmental operations, budgeting, scheduling, and faculty development.
  • Contribute to institutional growth through strategic academic planning and innovation.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Education / Mathematics / Physics from a recognized university.
  • M.Ed. with a minimum of 55% marks.
  • M.Sc. in Mathematics / Physics with a minimum of 55% marks.

Required Skills

  • Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated research aptitude with quality publications.
  • Knowledge of accreditation frameworks such as NAAC/NCTE.
  • Familiarity with Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and NEP 2020 implementation.
  • Ability to foster academic excellence and collaborative culture.
