The Role:
The Head of Commercial, Immunology will be the first commercial hire at Generate:Biomedicines and will be responsible for not only leading commercial strategy for Generate’s lead program but also guiding and growing the company’s commercial infrastructure over the coming years. This senior commercial leader will be primarily responsible for defining and executing Generate’s commercial strategy for GB-0895 which is currently in multiple Phase 3 clinical trials in Asthma and moving into late stage clinical development in COPD. This individual will bring a strong enterprise mindset and ensure that commercial perspectives are integrated early, rigorously, and pragmatically into program strategy, development planning, and portfolio decisions.
This role will lead the development of the U.S. and ex-U.S. commercial roadmap for GB-0895, including market understanding, asset positioning, target product profile refinement, evidence and access strategy inputs, launch readiness planning, and the evolution of the commercial operating model required to support future commercialization. The role will also help establish and implement the commercial capability and organizational build in a phase appropriate way to meet the needs of GB-0895 and Generate at large.
The ideal candidate combines strategic depth with executional prowess in a fast-paced biotech environment: someone who can shape a compelling commercial vision, work collaboratively across functions to drive key decisions and implementation towards that vision and personally take accountability for all critical commercial workstreams in a fast-moving biotechnology environment. This role will partner closely with leaders across R&D, Regulatory, Technical Operations, Finance, Legal, and Corporate Strategy.
Here's how you will contribute:
- Serve as the commercial lead for GB-0895, owning the integrated commercial strategy and ensuring the asset is developed with a clear view of market opportunity, competitive differentiation,patient and physician needs, and launch requirements together with future indication expansion opportunities .
- Lead development and ongoing refinement of a multi-year commercialization roadmap for GB-0895, spanning strategic planning, pre-launch capability building, operating model design, and key go-to-market decisions.
- Build andmaintain a robust competitive intelligence process across immunology, translating external market developments, clinical readouts, competitive moves, and policy or access shifts into actionable implications for program strategy and positioning.
- Partner closely with Clinical Development, Regulatory, Translational, andTechnical teams to ensure commercial insights are incorporated early into development plans, evidence generation, label strategy, target product profile decisions, and lifecycle planning.
- Work with executive leadership to evaluate and implement the commercial operating model for Generate, including key capabilities, team structure, processes, systems, and resourcingrequired for successful launch preparation and future scale-up.
- Lead key market workstreams such as market landscape assessments, segmentation, forecasting inputs, pricing and access considerations,channel and stakeholder strategy, and launch scenario planning.
- Collaborate with Finance and Strategy to support long-range planning, portfolio prioritization, investment decisions, and program valuation through clear commercial assumptions and data-driven scenarios.
- Initially be self-sufficient as a commercial leader for GB-0895 but over time and in a phase appropriate manner, build, lead, and develop commercial talent over time, setting a high bar for strategic rigor, cross-functional partnership, execution, and leadership presence.
- Represent the commercial perspective in governance forums, program team discussions, and senior leadership reviews, providing clear recommendations, risk assessments, and decision-ready analyses.
The Ideal Candidate will have:
- 15+ years of relevantpharmaceutical commercial experience at least some of which was in a smaller biotechnology company, including substantial experience in commercial strategy, new product planning, launch preparation, marketing, market access, business analytics, or related commercial leadership roles.
- Deep experience in immunologycommercialization and a strong grasp of the treatment landscape, competitive dynamics, and stakeholder environment across major immunology markets.
- A demonstratedtrack record of shaping commercial strategy for development-stage or early-launch assets, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams well before commercialization.
- Experience leading major cross-functional initiatives that connect commercial, clinical, regulatory, and finance stakeholders around a common strategy.
- Strong strategic problem-solving skills, including market assessment, scenario planning, forecasting inputs, investment framing, and executive communication.
- Experience building commercial capabilities and/or standing up new processes, teams, or operating models in a high-growth biotech environment.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the credibility to engage effectively with executive leadership, external experts, and cross-functional program teams.
- Bachelor’s degreerequired; advanced degree strongly preferred.

Compensation: The base salary range provided reflects our current estimate of what we anticipate paying for this position. Your actual base salary will be based on several factors, including job-related skills, experience, internal equity, relevant education or training, and market dynamics. In addition, you will be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and a competitive benefits package.
Per Year Salary Range: $232,000 USD - $348,000 USD
