Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for the Head of Accounting, based in the Athens Metropolitan Area. The Head of Accounting will be the financial compass of Oniro — responsible for the full accounting cycle, statutory compliance, and reporting integrity across the group.

◆ Own the Monthly Closing

Drive the full month-end close process with precision and speed — P&L, balance sheet, accruals, reconciliations.

◆ AADE Tax Compliance & Reporting

Prepare and submit all required tax filings — VAT, income tax, withholding tax — in full compliance with AADE regulations and Greek tax law.

◆ Financial Reporting & Analysis

Produce accurate, insightful monthly management accounts and ad-hoc financial reports for senior leadership.

◆ Statutory & Legal Compliance

Navigate Greek accounting law (ΕΓΛΣ), ensure full compliance with all legal obligations including GFP requirements and annual statutory filings.

◆ Cash Flow & Treasury Support

Monitor and forecast cash positions; support the CFO on liquidity management and banking relationships.

◆ Audit Readiness

Maintain audit-ready books at all times. Be the point of contact for external auditors and tax advisors.

Qualifications

A - Class License Accountant
Proven experience in a senior accounting role
Deep knowledge of AADE tax reporting
Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards
Monthly closing mastery
ERP proficiency
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Experience in the hospitality industry is preferred
