SEE Acumen is building the agentic intelligence infrastructure for the lower middle market acquisition ecosystem. Our platform is designed to credential operators, score acquisition opportunities, automate workflows, and govern outcomes across the transaction lifecycle.

The lower middle market lacks standardized operator credentialing, objective deal intelligence, and integrated execution infrastructure. SEE Acumen is addressing that gap through a combination of AI-powered analytics, workflow automation, governance frameworks, and proprietary scoring methodologies.

Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

This is not a traditional CTO role.

We are seeking a builder, architect, and technology leader who understands that software development is rapidly evolving from story-driven development toward AI-native, specification-driven development. The successful candidate will lead the technical strategy, architecture, development, and deployment of SEE Acumen's platform while remaining actively involved in hands-on implementation.

The CTO will oversee platform architecture, AI infrastructure, cloud operations, security, compliance readiness, and product development. Responsibilities include designing scalable multi-tenant SaaS infrastructure, implementing AI-powered document automation and intelligence systems, integrating banking and LMS platforms, and building enterprise-grade workflows that serve independent sponsors, operators, attorneys, and capital providers.

The successful candidate must be capable of translating complex business concepts into implementation-ready specifications that can be rapidly executed through a combination of AI-assisted and traditional software development. Qualifications

AI-Native & Specification-Driven Development

• Demonstrated experience leading specification-driven software development initiatives where product specifications, workflows, architecture documents, data models, and business rules serve as the primary development artifacts

• Proven ability to convert complex business processes into implementation-ready platform specifications that accelerate development through AI-assisted and traditional engineering practices

• Experience leveraging AI development tools, coding agents, LLMs, and AI-assisted workflows to improve development velocity, quality, and scalability

• Strong understanding of modern AI-native development methodologies, including specification-driven development, AI-assisted coding, architecture-first design, and human validation processes

Technical Leadership

• 15+ years of software development experience with at least 5 years in a senior technology leadership role (CTO, VP Engineering, Founding Engineer, or equivalent)

• Proven experience taking software products from concept to production and scaling them through institutional adoption

• Demonstrated success operating in 0-to-1 startup environments with limited resources and high ambiguity

• Strong software architecture, product development, systems thinking, and technical roadmap planning capabilities

• Experience building and scaling engineering organizations from the ground up

Technical Expertise

• Strong expertise in FastAPI/Python, Next.js/React, PostgreSQL, AWS, Auth0, and modern AI/LLM technologies

• Experience designing and implementing AI-powered solutions, agentic workflows, automation platforms, and enterprise intelligence systems

• Deep understanding of cloud architecture, CI/CD, cybersecurity, OWASP best practices, GDPR compliance, and SOC 2 readiness

• Experience with Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS), payment infrastructure, KYC/AML systems, or financial technology integrations preferred

• Experience supporting technical due diligence, fundraising initiatives, and enterprise client onboarding is highly desirable

Leadership & Communication

• Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills

• Ability to communicate effectively with founders, investors, technical teams, capital providers, attorneys, and institutional partners

• Comfortable making consequential technical and business decisions with incomplete information

• Strong documentation and specification-writing skills

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field preferred

Additional Requirements

• Must be an active, hands-on coder

• Must be able to demonstrate recent production-level development experience

• Must be capable of translating complex acquisition, governance, credentialing, intelligence, and workflow systems into implementation-ready specifications

• Must be comfortable moving between architecture, development, AI orchestration, and executive leadership responsibilities in the same week

• Must have experience taking products from 0-to-1 and be prepared to help build SEE's engineering organization from 0-to-1

• Must be located in or willing to relocate to the Dallas-Fort Worth area

• Experience in AI, deal technology, capital markets infrastructure, governance systems, workflow automation, or enterprise intelligence platforms is strongly preferred
