Fashion Step Group is looking for Head of Sample (Woven)
Job Description / Responsibility
Fashion Step Group is strengthening its Sample Leadership to support rapid global growth and fast-fashion execution. We are looking for a young, energetic, buyer-centric, and execution-driven Head of Sample who can lead sample readiness with speed, accuracy, and first-time-right quality for global buyers.
This role holds centralized ownership from Head Office, ensuring CAD, cutting, sewing, finishing, and final sample readiness meet buyer expectations—on time, every time.
The Head of Sample (Woven) will take full ownership of buyer-focused sample readiness, leading end-to-end sample development operations and ensuring speed, quality, and commercial accuracy across fast-fashion woven(light to medium) categories**(Ladies Tops/Bottoms ~60%, Men’s Tops/Bottoms ~30%, Blazers ~10%)** & monthly capacity of ~15000 pieces**.**
This role requires deep technical knowledge, operational leadership, and strong cross-functional coordination to ensure first-time approvals and on-time sample delivery.
𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬
- Lead and control end-to-end sample development operations
- Own sample planning, execution timelines, and departmental KPIs.
- Ensure accurate interpretation of buyer tech packs, specifications, and design intent & Manage pattern correction based on sample fitting feedback and buyer comments.
- Drive speed, quality, and cost efficiency in proto, fit, size-set, and sales samples
- Implement best practices, SOPs, and standardization across sampling operations
- Coordinate with Design & Development, merchandising, sample, production, and quality teams for smooth workflow from Development to Bulk production.
- Identify and resolve execution bottlenecks to ensure smooth workflow
- Ensure high first-time approval success rate with global buyers.
- Controlling samples within the department, follow up materials in-house status, reporting & record keeping.
- Ensure optimum efficiency of CAD & Risk Analysis of sample operation routinely.
- Conduct In-line Audit, an in-process audit from Cut to Ship.
Educational Requirements
- Graduation in Textile Engineering or any relevant discipline·
- Skills Required: Leadership, Garments, Sample Making, Cost optimization, Sample Technician, Sample Quality, Sample Section Management, Ownership, Sample Development, Sample Product Risk Assessment
Experience Requirements
- At least 10 year(s)
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):

Additional Requirements
- 10+ years of proven experience in buyer-focused sample development (woven based) within export-oriented RMG·
- Energetic, technically sound, execution-driven preferable.
- Strong expertise in fast-fashion product categories.
- Should have sound experience on Lectra Software (patterns), quality control/ audit, basics on embroidery and washing.
- Should have experience in light woven multicategory Menswear, Womenswear, and Kids-wear products.
- Deep understanding of garment construction, fit, materials, and Sample Costing optimization.
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and people development with proper training & mentoring skills.
- Excellent coordination, communication, and execution ownership.
