Head of People (all genders) – Build the People Foundation of One of Europe's Fastest-Growing AI Companies

The hiring machine is running. Now it needs someone to own it – end-to-end.

You're joining one of Europe's fastest-growing AI companies – active in 7 countries simultaneously, scaling from €5M to €30M ARR within 12 months, just opened the US market, and a team that will grow from 40 to 300 people. Recruiting alone won't cut it anymore.

It takes someone who builds hiring machines, HR structures, and people processes fast – without over-engineering anything.

  • Location: Vienna preferred – other locations possible
  • Growth: ~40% monthly
  • ARR: €5M → €30M within 12 months
  • Team: currently ~40 → scaling to 300
  • Markets: DACH, France, Italy, Poland, UK, USA – and more in the pipeline
  • Compensation: €100.000–€110.000 base + equity

What Makes This Role Special

You're not the fifth People Manager in a matrix organization. You're the first person holding hiring, HR ops, and people structures together at this company – reporting directly to the CEO, with a seat at the table on every strategic decision. You'll build and lead a team of 3–4 recruiters and 1 HR Ops person. What you build here will carry the next chapter of the company's story.

What You'll Do

Hiring & International Expansion

  • Own the entire hiring process end-to-end: from job posting to signed offer
  • Build and lead a recruiting team (3–4 internal recruiters + external partners) to handle 40+ open roles simultaneously
  • Set up hiring structures and local benchmarks in new markets as the company expands internationally
  • Develop and maintain the employer brand across all channels
  • Hit 100+ hires by end of year – this is a growth function, not an admin function

HR Ops & Structures

  • Own all HR processes, tools, and documentation
  • Introduce and implement the company's first HR system
  • Handle employment contracts, compliance, and legal requirements across all relevant jurisdictions
  • Manage payroll coordination across multiple countries
  • Own onboarding and offboarding – and build a structure that scales
  • Be the go-to person for everything people-related across the company

In short: you're building the people operating system. Fast, lean, and without over-engineering.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years in People, HR, or Talent – ideally in a high-growth tech or startup environment
  • You've scaled a hiring organization before – from scratch, quickly, in a startup or scale-up environment
  • Strong recruiting skills – you can source, assess, and close top talent yourself
  • Pragmatic executor: when the CEO walks in with a new priority, you don't need three alignment meetings – you develop a plan and execute
  • Social butterfly with great energy – accessible to the entire team, a true culture carrier
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and building systems from scratch
  • Excellent communicator in English; German is a strong plus

This role is not for someone who wants to talk about culture frameworks all day. It's for someone who gets things done.
