Experience: 5 years experience if Chartered Accountant(preferred) or 10 - 15 years of Finance Experience.
Compensation: ₹12–16 LPA
Role Overview
EarthON Foundation is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented finance leader to oversee accounting, statutory compliance, grant management, donor reporting, financial planning, and strategic finance functions across the organization's operations and entities in India, the United States, the Netherlands, and Singapore.
We strongly prefer Qualified Chartered Accountants (CA) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or candidate should possess at least 10 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, audit, grants, or compliance roles.
The ideal candidate will be capable of balancing operational excellence with strategic financial management while supporting climate and sustainability initiatives. The role offers exposure to grants, blended finance, donor-funded projects, startup ecosystems, international financial operations, and board-level financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Finance & Accounting
- Lead end-to-end accounting operations, monthly and annual financial closures, and MIS reporting across EarthON.
- Prepare budgets, cash flow forecasts, fund-flow projections, and financial plans.
- Monitor organizational financial performance and recommend improvements to leadership.
- Ensure consistency in financial processes, reporting standards, and governance across all entities.
Statutory Compliance & Audit
- Ensure compliance with all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, including FCRA, Income Tax, GST, TDS, Companies Act, CSR regulations, and other relevant laws.
- Coordinate statutory, internal, donor, and financial audits across multiple jurisdictions where applicable.
- Maintain robust documentation, internal controls, and financial governance processes.
Investment, Grant & Donor Finance
- Manage grant budgets, utilization tracking, donor reporting, and financial closures.
- Prepare utilization certificates, statements of expenditure, and donor financial reports.
- Support budgeting for proposals, fundraising initiatives, and grant applications.
Strategic Finance & Climate Initiatives
- Support climate finance, blended finance, CSR, and impact funding initiatives.
- Conduct financial due diligence, investment readiness assessments, and risk analysis for startups and partners.
- Assist in structuring innovative financing solutions for climate and sustainability programs.
Financial Reporting & Analytics
- Build dashboards and management reports for leadership and board reviews.
- Track financial KPIs, organizational budgets, and program expenditure.
- Drive process improvements and leverage digital tools to enhance reporting efficiency.
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with auditors, banks, donors, consultants, government agencies, and ecosystem partners.
- Support program teams and startups on budgeting, compliance, and financial best practices.
- Coordinate with finance and operational stakeholders across EarthON’s international entities to ensure timely reporting and compliance.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards, financial controls, taxation, and statutory compliance.
- Excellent command of Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and accounting software such as Tally or ERP systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work across international teams and jurisdictions.
- Experience in NGOs, CSR foundations, incubators, accelerators, impact funds, consulting firms, or mission-driven organizations.
- Exposure to FCRA, donor-funded projects, grant management, climate finance, blended finance, or impact investing.
- Familiarity with financial modelling, due diligence, and board-level reporting.
- Working knowledge of accounting practices, statutory requirements, or financial compliance frameworks applicable to operations in India, the United States, the Netherlands, and Singapore.
