Head of Security Operations & Engineering | Global Technology Organisation

We are currently partnering with a global technology organisation seeking a Head of Security Operations & Engineering to lead and evolve their cyber security capabilities.
This is a senior leadership role focused on driving the maturity of Security Operations, Detection & Response, Security Engineering, and Automation functions across a complex enterprise environment. You'll play a key role in defining strategy, shaping operating models, developing teams, and delivering improvements across incident response, threat detection, security tooling, and engineering capabilities.
The Opportunity:
• Lead the strategy, roadmap, and overall maturity of Security Operations & Engineering
• Own detection and response, threat hunting, incident response, security engineering, and security tooling capabilities
• Drive security automation, orchestration, and operational efficiency initiatives
• Improve monitoring, visibility, and response capabilities across the organisation
• Define and implement operating models, processes, governance frameworks, KPIs, and service metrics
• Partner closely with infrastructure, cloud, DevOps, and engineering teams to embed security best practices
• Build, mentor, and develop high-performing teams including managers, engineers, and analysts
• Influence senior technology and business stakeholders while balancing short-term operational priorities with long-term strategic improvements

• Building or transforming security capabilities within large organisations
• Driving automation, orchestration, and operational efficiency initiatives

• Influencing senior stakeholders and operating at executive level
• Building and scaling high-performing security teams
