About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Head of Sales / Vice President of Sales to lead and scale a growing sales organization focused on delivering technology solutions to government and public-sector customers. This is a highly visible executive leadership role reporting directly to the CEO and responsible for driving both current revenue goals and long-term pipeline growth.
This position is ideal for a strategic sales leader who excels at building high-performing teams, developing enterprise sales strategies, and creating sustainable growth within complex, relationship-driven markets. While revenue achievement remains important, this role is heavily focused on leadership, forecasting, team development, and building a strong pipeline for future growth.
What You'll Do
Lead and Develop the Sales Organization
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of five sales professionals with plans to grow the organization to six or seven team members.
- Recruit and onboard additional senior sales talent as the organization expands.
- Establish clear performance expectations, accountability measures, and sales processes.
- Conduct regular pipeline reviews, forecasting sessions, and performance coaching.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, ownership, and results.
Drive Strategic Growth
- Build and execute a long-term sales strategy focused on sustainable pipeline development and market expansion.
- Strengthen forecasting accuracy, opportunity management, and revenue predictability.
- Develop and maintain executive-level relationships within government and public-sector organizations.
- Partner with Marketing to maximize lead generation from marketing-qualified leads, referrals, industry relationships, and customer advocacy.
- Support key strategic opportunities and complex sales cycles where executive involvement is critical.
Partner with Executive Leadership
- Serve as a key member of the leadership team and contribute to company growth strategy.
- Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Delivery, Finance, and executive stakeholders to align commercial objectives.
- Provide market intelligence and customer insights to help shape future business initiatives.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Proven success leading and scaling B2B sales organizations.
- Experience managing and developing high-performing sales teams.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to engage senior government officials, executives, and key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated success in strategic sales planning, forecasting, pipeline management, and revenue growth.
- Experience leading complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders and long buying processes.
- Ability to travel up to 40% for customer meetings, conferences, and industry events.
Preferred Qualifications
- SaaS sales leadership experience.
- Government or public-sector sales experience.
- Experience selling into county, state, or other government agencies.
- Background in enterprise software, technology services, or related industries.
- Experience recruiting and building sales teams during periods of growth.
Success in This Role
This leader will spend approximately:
- 60–70% of their time focused on leadership, strategy, coaching, forecasting, and long-term pipeline development.
- 30–40% supporting strategic opportunities, executive-level relationship building, and key customer engagements.
The successful candidate will help build the foundation for future growth while ensuring the organization achieves current revenue objectives.
Compensation
- Base Salary: $175,000 – $225,000
- Commission Structure:
- 1% of SaaS revenue
- 8.33% of labor revenue
- Performance-based quota attainment incentives
- Total earnings potential can exceed $300,000+ annually based on performance

- Ohio-based candidates are preferred, with an expectation of occasional in-office collaboration.
- Strong remote candidates will be considered.
