The Role
They are looking to hire a Head of Marketing! This is a 0→1 seat with full ownership of how the company markets their product and brand to increase Growth across the business and partnerships. They have a strong early product-market fit and real customer pull, but they need to define how the company shows up in the market.
You’ll own marketing end-to-end, and because this is the first marketing hire for the, it will be a 0->1 build role.
This is not a role for someone who wants to inherit a team and a playbook. It’s a role for someone who wants to write the playbook, do the hard work themselves, then hire the team.
What You’ll Do
- Own inbound pipeline. Nothing else matters - Your job is to generate a high volume of qualified inbound leads. We don’t care how you do it - events, conferences, SEO, paid ads, UGC, partnerships, outbound-driven plays, or something no one else is doing. Find what works, scale it aggressively, and kill what doesn’t.
- Make the company the default card for companies buying ads - When a company spends on ads, they should be the obvious choice. Drive the awareness and distribution required to make that happen.
- Own positioning and messaging - Take a complex fintech product (credit, payments, spend management) and make it simple, clear, and compelling for agencies.
- Ship and iterate on GTM constantly - Launch campaigns, test channels, run experiments. Move fast. No over-planning - just execution and learning.
- Drive growth with extreme ownership - Identify high-performing channels, double down hard, and continuously push for more efficient acquisition.
- Work directly with founders, product, and sales - Tight feedback loops. You help shape the narrative, influence the product, and ensure we’re aligned with how customers actually buy.
- Do whatever it takes to create demand - That could mean content, sending the team to the right conferences, building partnerships, or inventing entirely new plays. There is no fixed playbook.
- Enable the team to close - Create the messaging, materials, and angles that help turn interest into revenue.
- Be ruthlessly metrics-driven - Track what actually drives customers. Ignore vanity metrics. Optimize for pipeline and revenue.
What They’re Looking For
They’re looking for someone who has proven success building Marketing and Growth plans from scratch - a true builder of partnership pipelines!
- 4+ years of experience in marketing, ideally in B2B SaaS, fintech, or payments
- Experience in a high-growth or early-stage startup (0→1 or 1→10 preferred)
- Proven ability to own marketing end-to-end (strategy + execution)
- Strong track record of driving measurable growth outcomes (pipeline, revenue, activation)
- Exceptional messaging and storytelling ability - Able to distill complex products into clear, differentiated narratives
- Experience developing and executing go-to-market strategies for non-trivial products
- Highly cross-functional - Comfortable working closely with product, sales, and leadership teams
- Strong data-driven mindset - Able to analyze performance and make fast, high-quality decisions
- Bias toward action and experimentation - You don’t wait for perfect - you ship, learn, and iterate
