Global Head of Construction & Commissioning – HV Substations & HVDC Transmission
Role Purpose: The Global Head of Construction & Commissioning is responsible for the leadership, governance, and delivery of all construction, testing, commissioning, and energization activities across the company's global portfolio of HV Substation, HVDC, and Grid Infrastructure EPC projects.
The role will establish and drive execution standards, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. As a key member of the Global Project Leadership Team, the position will support business growth, operational excellence, and the successful integration of renewable energy and power transmission infrastructure worldwide
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the global Construction & Commissioning function for HV Substation, HVDC, and Transmission EPC projects,
- Establish and implement global standards, processes, governance, and best practices for construction and commissioning activities
- Ensure safe, efficient, and predictable project delivery across all regions.
- Provide executive oversight of project construction, testing, energization, and handover activities
- Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all corporate, client, and regulatory requirements
- Support bid development, execution strategy, resource planning, and risk management for major projects
- Lead and develop a global team of Construction Directors, Commissioning Managers, and Site Leadership personnel
- Monitor project performance, resolve critical delivery issues, and implement corrective actions where required
- Foster continuous improvement, productivity enhancement, and lessons-learned implementation across the portfolio
- Act as senior client interface for construction and commissioning matters on strategic projects
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- 20+ years' experience in the delivery of HV/EHV transmission and substation projects within an EPC environment
- Significant leadership experience managing large-scale international construction and commissioning organization
- Proven track record delivering HV Substations, HVDC Converter Stations, Transmission Lines, and Renewable Energy Grid Connection projects
- Strong understanding of EPC project delivery, HSE management, contract execution, and project controls.
