Job Title: Forward Deployed Manufacturing Consultant (FDMC)
Location: Remote (US-based)
Travel: 40%
Reports To: Vice President
About DeepHow
DeepHow is a Physical AI platform for industrial manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and utilities
that helps organizations capture expert know-how, turn it into dynamic work instructions, and
drive verified execution on the front line.
The platform spans knowledge capture and sharing, AI-powered verification through Smart
Compare and photo/video validation, and time and motion intelligence through guided
workflows, SOP adherence, and real-time execution visibility. DeepHow supports customers
from knowledge capture to verified execution, with strategic account expansion often centered
on verification, AI-guided workflows, and time and motion intelligence.
Role Overview
This hybrid role blends manufacturing operations expertise, consulting, customer strategy,
solution deployment, and business value realization. As DeepHow’s first Forward Deployed
Manufacturing Consultant, you will work directly with plant teams to uncover variability, risks
from tribal knowledge, training gaps, and operational friction. You’ll configure and deploy
DeepHow in real manufacturing environments — with deployment serving as the starting point
for driving lasting impact.
In this role, you’ll act as part industrial and process engineer, part operational excellence
consultant, part technical solutions architect, and part trusted advisor. You’ll blend technical
expertise with strategic insight, guiding organizations through transformation while building trust
as a partner in their success.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Discovery & Manufacturing Consulting
Conduct deep operational assessments at manufacturing sites by observing
workflows, interviewing frontline employees, supervisors, trainers, quality
leaders, and operations leadership
Identify operational bottlenecks, waste, process variability, training
inefficiencies, and quality risks
Facilitate structured discovery and process analysis workshops across areas
including: operations, engineering, maintenance, and quality
Develop current-state and future-state workflow maps that support both
DeepHow deployment strategy and broader operational improvement
initiatives
Build credibility quickly with both frontline operators and plant leadership
teams
Serve as a trusted advisor on operational effectiveness, workforce
enablement, and digital transformation initiatives
2. Platform Deployment & Solution Configuration
Own end-to-end deployment and configuration of DeepHow within customer
environments
Guide and train customers through the creation of content capture and platform
configurations (“teach them how to fish”)
Help operational experts convert tribal knowledge into structured, scalable training
and operational content
Collaborate closely with customer IT, operational technology, engineering, and
training teams during deployment
Troubleshoot configuration and adoption challenges creatively and efficiently
3. Change Management & Adoption
Drive frontline adoption and long-term operational engagement with the platform
Coach customer champions, supervisors, and site leaders on successful rollout and
sustainment strategies
Navigate resistance to process change with empathy, operational credibility, and
practical problem-solving
Help customers integrate DeepHow naturally into existing operational workflows
rather than treating it as a separate initiative
Recognize that successful deployment is as much about behavioral adoption as
technical implementation
4. Value Realization & Operational Impact
Own the customer journey from implementation kick-off through the achievement of
measurable operational outcomes
Establish clear value hypotheses, success metrics, and time-to-value milestones at
the beginning of every engagement
Track and communicate operational outcomes
Focus on achieving measurable customer impact in weeks, not quarters. Be able to
distinguish clearly between “the software is functioning” and “the customer is
realizing operational value”
Build operational business cases that translate manufacturing improvements into
measurable ROI for customer stakeholders
5. Expansion & Opportunity Discovery
Treat every customer engagement as an opportunity to uncover additional
operational value creation opportunities
Identify adjacent workflows, departments, use cases, and operational challenges
where DeepHow can create additional impact
Surface expansion opportunities organically through operational trust and customer
partnership, not transactional sales behavior
Partner closely with Sales and Customer Success to support account growth
initiatives
Contribute operational credibility during strategic customer conversations and late-
stage sales opportunities
Help customers envision future-state operational capabilities they may not yet realize
are achievable
6. Product Feedback & Innovation
Act as the voice of the customer internally by translating frontline operational
observations into actionable product feedback
Document operational patterns, emerging use cases, and deployment insights that
can improve future implementations
Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to shape platform evolution based
on real customer feedback and customer driven innovation ideas
Contribute to the development of repeatable deployment methodologies, operational
playbooks, and industry-specific best practices
Required Experience
● 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, industrial engineering, process
engineering, operational excellence, manufacturing consulting, Industry 4.0 initiatives, or
related operational environments
● Demonstrated ability to analyze complex operational workflows and identify measurable
improvement opportunities
● Strong plant-floor presence and the ability to build trust with both frontline workers and
operational leadership
● Technical fluency and comfort configuring software platforms, learning new systems
quickly, and collaborating effectively with technical teams
● Exceptional communication and facilitation skills across organizational levels
● Strong operational problem-solving instincts and customer-facing consulting capability
● Comfort operating independently in ambiguous, fast-moving startup environments
● Entrepreneurial mindset with strong curiosity and bias toward action
● Willingness to travel approximately 50%+ to customer sites
Desired Experience & Capabilities
● Background in industrial engineering, manufacturing systems, operations consulting,
continuous improvement, or manufacturing transformation initiatives
● Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TWI (Training Within Industry), TPM,
Kaizen, or similar operational methodologies
● Experience implementing or configuring enterprise operational systems such as: MES,
ERP, CMMS, QMS, Connected Worker
● Exposure to workforce transformation, digital operations, operational AI, or smart
manufacturing initiatives
● Multilingual capability (Spanish preferred) is a plus given the diversity of manufacturing
workforces
A Note on the Role
● The phrase “forward deployed” matters to us.
● This role is deeply embedded in real operational environments. You will spend
meaningful time inside factories, working alongside the people responsible for keeping
manufacturing operations running every day.
● But unlike traditional consulting roles, your work does not stop at recommendations. You
will help customers operationalize change through technology, process improvement.
