Summary
We are seeking a Senior Applied AI/ML Engineer to build and improve high-impact AI systems for product and operational workflows. This role reports to the Head of AI/ML Engineering and focuses on applied systems, including models for optimal, fair, and defensible insurance claims offers. Ideal candidates are product-oriented, fast-moving, and capable of turning ambiguous opportunities into measurable shipped systems. We value an AI-first approach to engineering and analysis.
What You'll Do
- Own and improve applied AI/ML systems for business workflows.
- Design, train, and deploy models for optimal, equitable, explainable claims offers.
- Build production workflows for generation, decisioning, retrieval, evaluation, and orchestration.
- Develop systems like position statement generation, offer engine enhancement, open negotiation agents, and rules/decisioning frameworks.
- Conduct experiments to improve model quality, workflow, and business outcomes.
- Collaborate with product, operations, and engineering to define metrics and solve real-world problems.
- Iterate on prompts, models, and workflows via tight feedback loops.
- Ensure engineering quality: instrumentation, testing, rollout safety, and operational visibility.
- Use AI as a force multiplier in your own work and foster AI-native team habits.
- Balance speed and rigor in a fast-paced, iterative environment.

- Experience with optimization systems for pricing, bidding, or equitable decisioning.
- Production experience with applied ML, LLMs, agent workflows, or decisioning systems.
- Ability to design and interpret experiments, evals, or optimization loops.
- Background in marketplaces, pricing, ad tech, credit decisioning, lending, or revenue optimization.
