As a Senior AI Engineer, you will take technical ownership of customer-specific solutions — from early concept stages through to productive use. Your role combines technical implementation with a strong focus on practical applicability and sustainable operation.

You will work closely with customers to understand their specific challenges and translate them into robust, maintainable solutions. German language skills at C1 level or above are mandatory, as communication with customers is a core part of the role.

The position is hybrid, with primarily remote work, complemented by occasional on-site collaboration with customers across Germany and at our office in Würzburg.

Your responsibilities and daily business

Take a leading technical role within project teams
Act as a trusted technical contact for customers
Design and implement end-to-end solutions from initial concept to productive deployment
Develop applications that support real-world processes, with a focus on reliability and maintainability
Integrate solutions into existing customer systems and workflows
Continuously improve systems with regard to performance, robustness, and cost-efficiency
Contribute to architectural decisions and support colleagues through technical guidance

Your profile

Strong experience building and deploying AI/ML systems in production
Ability to work independently and take ownership of complex problems
Strong communication skills and confidence in interacting with stakeholders
Experience working in applied AI or data-centric projects, ideally in customer-facing contexts
Solid Python skills and experience with modern ML/LLM tooling (framework-agnostic mindset)
Understanding of trade-offs in LLM selection, prompting, retrieval, and system design
Residence in Germany
