Stage: Funded early stage · Founding engineering team

The Opportunity

Taiga is an AI-native software factory. Business intent goes in. Production-ready, governed software comes out.

Our platform turns conversations into structured, compliant specifications. Then AI agents execute them into real software - while operating within enterprise constraints such as security, compliance, architecture, and auditability.

This is where the magic happens:

  • Policies become executable
  • Specifications become machine-readable
  • Software becomes traceable and auditable

We're a Finnish company with a working product, active pilot customers and a CTO who built the first version solo. Now we're hiring the founding engineering team.

The next challenge isn't building more features.

It's building better agents.

Our platform already runs a growing fleet of AI agents responsible for specification, UX planning, technical design, security review, work planning, and coding.

Now we're looking for our first dedicated AI Engineer to own the intelligence layer behind the system - how agents reason, use tools, retrieve context, collaborate, and continuously improve.

What You'll Build

You'll own the core agent platform.

As one of the first engineers at Taiga, you'll be responsible for a critical part of the system: the intelligence layer that turns business intent into production-ready software.

More importantly, you'll help define how:

  • AI agents reason and make decisions
  • Agents interact with tools, knowledge, and enterprise systems
  • Multiple agents collaborate to solve complex software development tasks
  • Evaluation, governance, and observability become part of the development process itself
  • AI systems operate reliably inside real enterprise constraints

In your first months, you'll work on challenges such as:

  • Designing and improving the agent execution loop
  • Building evaluation systems that continuously measure quality
  • Creating agent tools, skills, and MCP integrations
  • Developing retrieval and context systems for long-horizon tasks
  • Improving reasoning quality through prompts, tools, routing, and evaluations
  • Designing multi-agent collaboration and orchestration patterns
  • Instrumenting agent behavior and diagnosing failures
  • Turning customer feedback and production insights into agent improvements

You'll work directly with the founders and become the primary owner of how agents behave inside the platform.

Tech Stack

AI & Agents: AWS Bedrock AgentCore · Strands SDK · Anthropic models

Language: Python

Knowledge & Retrieval: Vector Search · Hybrid Search · Enterprise Knowledge Systems

Application Layer: Fastify · TypeScript

Data: PostgreSQL

Infrastructure: AWS · Terraform · GitHub Actions

What We're Looking For

Must-Haves

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Strong Python skills
  • Strong engineering fundamentals and a product ownership mindset

You have real experience building and shipping AI systems:

  • At least 1.5 years working with production LLM or agent systems
  • Experience shipping AI systems into production environments
  • Experience building agent workflows, orchestration, or tool-use systems
  • Experience with RAG, retrieval, embeddings, or knowledge systems
  • Experience designing or maintaining evaluation frameworks

You're comfortable working with modern AI tooling and workflows:

  • Familiarity with Anthropic, OpenAI, Bedrock, or similar LLM platforms
  • Daily use of AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot

Strong Advantages

  • AWS Bedrock or Bedrock AgentCore experience
  • Strands SDK experience
  • MCP (Model Context Protocol)
  • Multi-agent systems
  • Agent evaluation frameworks
  • Retrieval evaluation and context engineering
  • Harness engineering
  • Regulated-industry experience
  • Fine-tuning or model adaptation experience
  • PostgreSQL
  • TypeScript
  • Terraform

More than any specific framework, we're looking for someone who understands how to turn AI capabilities into reliable production systems.

Reality Check

This is a founding-team role with real impact - and real trade-offs.

You'll become only the second employee at Taiga and one of the first people shaping how the company builds agents, evaluates them, and ships them to customers.

The work is ambitious, technically demanding, and often ambiguous. You'll move between evaluation systems, agent behavior, retrieval pipelines, tooling, and orchestration challenges - focusing on whatever has the highest impact on the platform at that moment.

At the same time, this is an early stage funded company. Priorities will evolve, new challenges will emerge, and there are no support layers yet. We're building for enterprise customers from day one, so the quality bar is high and expectations are real.

There are no layers of management between you and the decisions that matter. You'll have a direct impact on the product, architecture, and technical direction of the company.

In return, you’ll get a competitive salary, meaningful early equity, and a Finnish work culture that respects your time outside work.

The team is based at Maria 01 in Helsinki and works mostly from the office, so ideally you're excited about building together onsite for most of the week.

Want to be part of defining how software gets built in the AI era?

We’d love to hear from you!

Applications to this role will be reviewed continuously, and the position will be filled as soon as the right candidate is found. To apply, please send your CV or LinkedIn profile latest 25.6.2026.
