Hiring Backend & AI Engineering (Intern)
Experience: 0–1 Years
Location: Bangalore (In-Office)
Employment Type: Full-Time Internship (Potential for Full-Time Conversion based on Performance)
Company: Klarixa AI (a subsidiary of Pharma Tek Solutions, USA)
About Klarixa
Klarixa AI is building the intelligence layer for life sciences quality and compliance — the kind of software that turns 6-week deviation investigations into 6-hour ones and makes "inspection-ready every day" an actual operating reality instead of a slogan.
We're born out of 26+ years of hands-on GxP auditing, computer system validation, and pharma quality systems. Our founders bring a rare combination of deep AI/SaaS engineering DNA and frontline life sciences expertise — 200+ audits conducted across FDA, EMA, and MHRA-regulated environments. We don't sell generic AI wrapped in pharma language. We encode regulatory fluency into software, built by people who know exactly what breaks, what gets cited, and what actually works.
We're building Klarixa to be in the top 1% of companies in the world — in product, in engineering culture, and in how we ship.
The Role
We're hiring a Backend Developer Intern/ Founding AI Engineer Intern who wants to build the core systems behind a category-defining AI product — not maintain someone else's legacy stack.
You'll work directly with the founding team in a lean pod structure: small, high-trust, multi-disciplinary teams that own outcomes end-to-end. No layers of approval, no waiting for a Jira ticket to thaw. You ship, you measure, you iterate.
This is an AI-native engineering org. where you'll contribute to live products, solve meaningful technical challenges, and gain exposure to modern backend engineering, cloud infrastructure, and AI-native development workflows.
What We're Looking For
- Final-year students, recent graduates, interns, and candidates with up to 1 year of experience
- We are currently prioritizing applications from IITs, NITs, BITS Pilani, IIIT Hyderabad, IIIT Bangalore, VIT, RVCE and similar reputed engineering institutes.
- Prior internship experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong Python fundamentals and comfort across its ecosystem
- Familiarity with Postgres, MongoDB, Docker, and microservices, CI/CD**(Not mandatory)**
- Strong CS fundamentals — data structures, algorithms, performance instincts
- Familiarity with LLMs such as GPT, Claude, Gemini, Llama, or similar models
- Knowledge of RAG, embeddings, vector databases, and prompt engineering
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and scale backend systems and microservices that sit at the core of our platform
- Write clean, well-documented Python that other engineers (and AI agents) can extend
- Build and optimize RESTful APIs and WebSocket services for real-time, high-performance workflows
- Own our Postgres data layer — schema design, query optimization, scaling decisions
- Deploy and maintain containerized services using Docker
- Work extensively with AWS (EC2, ALB, S3, Route 53) and own pieces of our cloud infrastructure
- Work on RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines
- Develop prompt engineering and LLM-based solutions
What We Value
- AI-native by default. You use Claude Code, Cursor, or similar agentic tooling as a force multiplier — and you have opinions about how to do it well.
- Lean-pod operator. You thrive in small teams where you wear multiple hats and the distance from idea to production is hours, not weeks.
- Product brain. You care about why we're building something, not just what. You'll push back on bad specs.
- Calm in chaos. Startup velocity is the floor, not the ceiling. You stay sharp when priorities shift.
- Craft. You ship fast, but you don't ship sloppy.
Why Klarixa
- Day-0 equity. Real ownership from the moment you join. We want you invested in the outcome — not just employed by it.
- Founder access. No middle layers. You'll be in the room where architecture, product, and strategy decisions are made.
- Top 1% ambition. We're not building a feature shop. We're building a category leader, and we hire people who want to be part of that bar.
- Founders who've done it. A mix of core AI/SaaS builders and life sciences operators who've lived the problems we're solving for 20+ years.
- Tooling and autonomy. Best-in-class dev environments, AI tooling budget, and the trust to use them.
- Real impact. Pharma, biotech, and medical device companies will use what you ship to keep medicines safe and audits clean. The work matters.
Big Pluses
- Prior experience at a product-led startup or high-growth SaaS company
- Daily user of Claude Code, Cursor, or comparable AI dev tools — bonus if you can show what you've built with them
- Exposure to regulated industries (pharma, healthcare, fintech) or workflow-heavy enterprise SaaS
- Open-source contributions or side projects that show range
