AI engineer is the person who makes AI work reliably in production, not just proving an idea might work. The role sits at the intersection of software development, ML implementation, systems integration, and product thinking.

Responsibilities

Design and develop AI systems using machine learning, deep learning, and neural networks
Transform complex data into actionable AI-driven solutions that automate tasks requiring human intelligence
Lead cross-functional teams in identifying business areas where AI can deliver significant value
Bridge the gap between technical AI capabilities and business strategy
Stay current with AI advancements and integrate emerging technologies into practical applications.
Build production applications around models — not stopping at notebooks or benchmarks
Connect model outputs to product systems through APIs, services, and queues
Deploy, monitor, and maintain live AI systems.

Required Skills

Python (strong)
PyTorch and/or TensorFlow
RAG, LLM integration
REST APIs and microservices integration
Data pipeline design and management
Experience deploying models to production
LangChain, LlamaIndex, or LangGraph
MLOps tooling (MLflow, Weights & Biases, Kubeflow)
Vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Chroma)
Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in computer science

At least 3 years of demonstrable experience.
