Founding AI Engineer / Founding Backend Engineer

Up to $250k base + competitive equity

I'm working with a rapidly growing AI startup rebuilding core infrastructure for one of the world's largest industries.

The team is deploying multi-agent AI systems and large-scale automation platforms that handle complex operational workflows end-to-end. In under a year they've grown from zero to multi-million ARR, raised over $60M in Series A and built a team of exceptional engineers, researchers, and problem-solvers from elite startups, quantitative trading firms, and leading technical institutions.

This is an intense, high-ownership startup environment. The company operates five days per week in-person and is looking for builders who want to move fast, take responsibility early, and work alongside an exceptionally strong team.

The focus is building, deploying, and scaling production AI systems that solve real-world operational problems.

You'll work on problems such as:

• Multi-agent AI systems operating in production environments

• Large-scale workflow automation and decision-making systems

• Distributed backend infrastructure and data pipelines

• Multimodal AI across documents, images, text, and structured data

• Reliability, observability, and performance of mission-critical systems

We're looking for engineers who have:

• Experience working at startups or high-ownership environments

• Demonstrated 0→1 ownership of products, systems, or major features

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and a track record of shipping production systems

• Experience building scalable backend systems and/or applied AI products

• High agency and the ability to operate effectively with ambiguity and limited process

• Strong problem-solving ability, structured thinking, and clear communication

Particularly relevant experience includes:

• Python

• Distributed Systems

• AI Agents

• LLM Applications

Ideal Profiles -

• Founding Engineer, CTO, or startup leadership experience

This role will be best suited to engineers who genuinely enjoy building from scratch, moving quickly, and taking ownership of difficult technical problems.
