2. About the Opportunity:
The AI Engineer will design, build, and deploy intelligent AI systems focusing on agentic AI and workflow automation to transform business operations. This role aims to enhance operational efficiency, improve borrower and broker experiences, ensure compliance, and increase profitability through scalable automation within the mortgage domain.
3. Responsibilities:
• Design and deploy AI agents and multi-agent systems automating mortgage workflows across the loan lifecycle.
• Develop orchestration frameworks for autonomous decision support, task execution, and workflow routing.
• Build AI copilots and internal assistants supporting underwriting, loan processing, sales, operations, compliance, and leadership.
• Create AI-powered exception handling and escalation frameworks for complex loan scenarios.
• Identify and automate high-friction operational workflows.
• Develop automation for loan intake, document classification, income and asset analysis, credit review, conditions management, broker and borrower communication, QC, compliance reviews, and post-close processes.
• Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation systems using lending guidelines and investor matrices.
• Build prompt orchestration, memory systems, and reasoning frameworks.
• Evaluate and deploy AI technologies for document intelligence, NLP, computer vision, and decision support.
• Integrate AI systems with loan origination platforms, CRM, pricing engines, OCR/document recognition tools, and data platforms.
• Develop APIs and middleware for AI workflow orchestration.
• Ensure AI solutions meet mortgage regulatory requirements with controls for explainability, auditability, monitoring, and human approvals.
• Contribute to enterprise AI strategy and prioritize automation opportunities that improve revenue and operational metrics.
4. Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years in software or AI engineering.
• At least 2 years building LLM-based or agentic AI systems.
• Experience with orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, Semantic Kernel, or MCP architectures.
• Strong Python skills and experience with APIs, vector databases, prompt engineering, RAG architectures, and workflow automation.
• Preferred experience in mortgage lending, fintech, banking, or financial services.
• Familiarity with Non-QM underwriting guidelines and mortgage LOS platforms.
• Experience deploying AI in regulated environments.
